Now in its ninth year, the annual competition celebrates London’s best-designed new home extensions and improvements, promoting the value of good design to householders and the work of emerging architectural practices.
The winning project was praised by the expert jury for its unique intervention into a deleterious 1935 chapel in Camberwell, commending the extraordinary quality of light created by its folded soffit and structure. Craftworks joins a prestigious line up of past winners, including Tonkin Liu, Carl Turner Architects, Platform 5 Architects, Studio Octopi and Ben Adams Architects. Out of the 130 projects featured this year, eleven projects were recognised by the jury, making this year the most competitive to date.
