Wolfgang Putz, Thomas Willemeit und Lars Krückberg from GRAFT will work together with Marianne Birthler, Former federal Commissioner for the Records of the State Security Service of the former German Democratic Republic, referring to this year’s central theme “Freespace”. Special focus will be given on the history of the inner German border wall and to examples of urban and architectural design that address aspects of division and integration. Therefore, the motto will be interpreted historically and realized as an architectural theme. The detailed concept for the exhibition of the German Pavilion will be presented at the beginning of next year.
